Montreal Shows/Performances Information

I would like to introduce a new repository for all events in Montreal.

You can see most of Montreal concerts, shows, performances, sport and other activities in one place: http://www.montreallisting.ca/concerts-shows-events/

This section, on one of popular Montreal Classifieds website, updated daily with many events.
It is very convenient to have all events in one place, where all items sorted by event date. There is option to filter particular events:
All Concerts Operas Shows/Performances Festivals Kids/Family Dance/Ballet Circus Sport

Each event can be shared on Facebook, Twitter and many other networks.

You can also submit your own event by sending email to support team.

Highest Adsense Cost per Click CPC

The AdSense earnings depends on many factors. I found that website niche and origin of traffic are the main factors. Of course the higher traffic is the more earnings you can expect, but niche and geographical location of your visitors is the factor.
I also found that day of the week and time of the day can have different CPCs.

Yesterday I found that one click coming from this blog gave me around $11. I wish all my clicks were like this.
I tried to figure out what what blog post and what keywords brought this high click, but unfortunately Blogger and AdSense and Analytics does not provide this kind of info.

If you would like to share your experience with AdSense and your highest CPC you received so far, leave your comments here.

10 Recent Google Algorithm Changes

I  just took the important parts of the blog post on http://insidesearch.blogspot.com/2011/11/ten-recent-algorithm-changes.html
I put in green my questions, so if you know what it means, please comment on my post.

Snippets with more page content and less header/menu content: This change helps us choose more relevant text to use in snippets. As we improve our understanding of web page structure, we are now more likely to pick text from the actual page content, and less likely to use text that is part of a header or menu. - meaning, the text on Google search results will more likely contain page content, raiser than page title?

Better page titles in search results by unduplicating boilerplate anchors: We look at a number of signals when generating a page's title. One signal is the anchor text in links pointing to the page. We found that boilerplate links with duplicated anchor text are not as relevant, so we are putting less emphasis on these. The result is more relevant titles that are specific to the page's content. - does it means that anchor text is now less important, and page title weights more now?

Fresher, more recent results: As we announced just over a week ago, we’ve made a significant improvement to how we rank fresh content. This change impacts roughly 35% of total searches (around 6%-10% of search results) and better determines the appropriate level of freshness for a given query. - meaning fresh content will come first?
  • Recent events or hot topics. For recent events or hot topics that begin trending on the web, you want to find the latest information immediately
  • Regularly recurring events. Some events take place on a regularly recurring basis, such as annual conferences
  • Frequent updates. There are also searches for information that changes often, but isn’t really a hot topic or a recurring event
Refining official page detection: We try hard to give our users the most relevant and authoritative results. With this change, we adjusted how we attempt to determine which pages are official. This will tend to rank official websites even higher in our ranking. - official website will rank better? How Google will decide which website is official? Does it means the bigger is more official than small website?

Reading all this I personally not feel too exciting, like Google folks are.
You all are welcome to send your feed backs and comments. For sure all these changes are good for SEO experts, more work, more $$$.

Adobe will no longer develop Flash for mobile devices

Adobe confirmed that it will no longer develop Flash for mobile devices after its next release and instead focus on HTML5 and AIR apps. But the company assured it will continue issuing "critical bug fixes and security updates" for devices running the software—like the BlackBerry PlayBook and Android devices. The move would be a major blow to Android device makers, who have long touted Flash compatibility as a key competitive advantage over Apple's iPhone and iPad.

To check if this is not related to Google plus, simply logout from your google account/Gmail and query Google again.

Twitter Auto DM's are not for Auto Follow/Unfollow users

Are Twitter Auto DM's  are good or will hurt my followers?

After researching the internet, so far all bloggers who point against Twitter auto DM's using same reasons again and again: looks spam and people will unfollow.

Well, this is pure myth! I'm using Twitter AutoResponder and so far just gaining traffic and new followers!
If you want to see all reasons why Twitter Auto Replies will stay forever, read it here: http://www.vicconsult.com/surveys/Auto-DMs-on-Twitter-Where-Robo-DMs-go-to-die-auto-dms-tumblr.html

Today I want to concentrate on one blog that I found, really this is state of art blog - total BS (http://auto-dms.tumblr.com).

From the name of this site and every second word in their content we can see what it is all about:
hate die hell.I'm linking using these words in purpose so that they will perform best for these keywords, anyways for Twitter Auto DM's they are page 13.
So, what this blog is about? Well calling it blog making me laugh. They have only 13 posts and last from June. Looks like someone got inspired during that month and put his useless reviews only that month.
All posts is same crap - reviewing different Twitter posters that used automated replies.
Hey @autodmsfromhell, who you thing you are to give your stupid, useless feedback's? Really your crappy blog sounds like mental support group for people who know only to complain, and cannot do anything else in their miserable lives. Your twitter user has nothing, but just re-tweeting others.

So lets review few re-tweets from your mental support twitter user:
@M0TMX I love getting an Auto DM when I follow someone, it allows me to determine "immediately" whether I've made a mistake or not, and unfollow!
In other words, you love Auto-DM and un-follow people just because of that? My question how you found these people in a first place? Are you only criteria is: whoever not uses auto DM's I will follow them? Looking on your twitter user, you just following 1736 people that you so far was able to find that not using Auto Replies. Keep going, and good luck!

@tommytrc I just got an AUTO DM telling me to "Stay Awesome"Clearly he has no idea how consistent I already am!
I really happy for you. You've made your point, but not sure why that was re-tweeted? He just made his point, or just had nothing to tweet in his mind at that moment.

@Comprendia Pretty much now I just unfollow those who autoDM on principle... :O
Hey, you have 3.1k followers and you following 3.3k others. You are using automated tools to follows others - don't complain about auto DM's, look on yourself first!

@DatingRev I want to know once and for all, who's brilliant idea was it to teach people to AutoDM new followers?
This is not new idea, we have voice-mails, we all use email auto reply, so this is very old idea, for decades and we all using it - do you? O,I see you also have 3.2k followers and following 3,.4k others. May be just stop auto follow people and your auto DM's problem also will be resolved.

@SVRank Do not auto-DM others when they start following you. Your first impression will be: Another marketer who needs money.
And you provide ranking services for free?

Well, guys just stop using auto follow tools and auto DM's will not bother you anymore, but if you use - don't complain.

Now, the most interesting part, the blog itself, useless reviews:
This may be the most egregious DM I’ve encountered in quite a while. You’ve included the handle of your autoresponder provider, which is actually helpful in that I can now block them too.  You’ve also included a link to their service promise, which includes a big ol’ LIE:
Our AutoResponder will send a direct messages IF AND ONLY IF your user follows our Twitter user vicconsult. If you unfollow vicconsult, we will stop sending messages!”
I do not follow their Twitter account, and I still got the freaking DM.
Sadly, it’s not even the most offensive part of this tired tale.
A quick inspection of your timeline, to figure out why the heck I followed you in the first place (I still can’t remember) shows that you average two tweets per month.
You use an auto-DM and you don’t even tweet?
I'm reading this review several time and still not getting the point. Really, or you are totally out of your mind or I need to improve my English. You not follow their account but still received DM? Oh, you so good, you actually found bug in Twitter that allows to send DMs to people that you have no connection with. Wait a minute, a few lines after you saying that now you remember why you followed this account. Here we go, you have sclerosus, and that explains a lot. BTW, how many tweets you posted? All I see is just re-tweets. Don't judge others if you doing same!

Reading all posts, they all seem to me written by the same blogger, who got inspired for 2 weeks. All posts are simply repeating each other, same idea, same facts, same conclusions. Really very boring blog, and that is not surprise me why they have almost 0 traffic and ranking so far from first google pages for their main keywords. They probably saw boost yesterday and today, but it was me, yes my 2 click on your only 2 pages blog with 0 replies.

As matter of fact I'm using Auto DM's and number of my followers simply grows, just proves my point that most of Twitter users are OK with auto replies.
For popular Twitter users, auto DMs are really helpful. such users receiving many new followers everyday, and spending time to welcome each of them requires full time job!

Now ask yourself a question: if today you started to follow actor that you love the most, and you got auto reply from him, which thanks you for following him, telling you about his website or new movie, will you un-follow him? I assume if you normal, you will not.

There is nothing wrong with automatic reply on Twitter, if you simply what to extend your BIO, or thank for following you. It is just normal behavior of 2 educated sides to exchange welcome messages. If your twitter user receives very few new followers, you can manage it yourself, but when it comes to hundreds a day, automation just saves your time, when you want to be nice to others. If people will un-follow you just because they got Auto-DM from you, trust me you don't need them, and let them go to Hell (http://auto-dms.tumblr.com/).

Since we started using Twitter Auto Reply service, our traffic from Twitter simply went up:
Traffic from Twitter after we started using Twitter Auto-DM

Above graphs simply show that Twitter AutoResponders good for gaining visitors to your website, good for SEO and good for your business. This is fact and you cannot argue that, the numbers show ALL.

YOU all should understand that Twitter today is not only for private people, but many companies are there too. Auto-Reply is part of every business, which stay with us for a good.
Twitter is aware of such auto-reply services, and the fact they expose APIs helping doing that, means Twitter itself is OK with Auto-DM's.

PS: if some of you want to user twitter auto responders, which look more personal, VicConsult Twitter autoresponder offers such feature to all it's users for free!
